The Hurricane

by Addie Y.

I hear a boom
I feel rain on my shoulder as I look up
The roof is twirling around in the sky like a ballerina
Our house is ruined not even a candle will give light
I run to my mom crying on her bed
Saying hopefully rescue boats will come
I look down noticing
my ankles are now in a pool
I am sad.  I look out the window and see a boat
I yell for my mom telling her help is here
We make our way outside and climb in the boat
the water up to my hip
Other people start to paddle
We stop at another house
There is a girl about my height
Water up to her neck
I look at the house
It looks like a wreck site
And then it all hit me and I can’t help but bawl like a baby
My home is gone
